2018: A Year in Review

2018: A Year in Review – and what an adventurous and epic year it was. It’ll be labelled as a fine vintage in the archive. I have attended and photographed so many fantastic weddings throughout 2018, so have really enjoyed putting the following together. What has been painful however, is choosing. I’ve delivered thousands of fully edited wedding and engagement photos throughout the year. This is by no means the best, I reckon that if you asked me to do this again next week I’d pick a whole different set! But, it is the best of the ones for today’s choice.

I’m a photographer that travels

If I were to have logged the miles travelled back and forth from my home in Lincolnshire, to the many weddings photographed in 2018, it would be insane. The Australian wedding I shot is over 10,000 miles away alone! I do love when couples ask if I’d travel to … and I can reply saying, ‘yes!’

Flying to Australia was after a late night drive, fighting my car through the ‘beast from the east’ to make it to the airport. Yet, I’ll always be proud of myself for the late night snow photo. I’m even more proud of Helen, the bride, for going out into the freezing night.

Theme park wedding? YES!

Another memorable moment of 2018 was spending the weekend in Margate photographing the wedding of a good friend. Held in a theme park of all places, we were able to go on all of the rides, the slot machines and the vintage skating rink for late night dancing. This wedding was that good, it was printed in the AMAZING Rock and Roll Bride magazine. Drool!

I’ve taken nana naps in my car, after staying to the end of the partying so I can drive home with a clear head. With a million and one stories to tell, of sober and drunken couples, families and guests, I’ve been told I need to write a book. However, I have many more stories to hear and many more stunning weddings to photograph.

So, there was my 2018: A Year in Review. I’ve had a fantastic 2018 and cannot wait to meet the brides and grooms of 2019. Happy New Year to you all!
