Pre wedding photoshoot

A few weeks ago, I took a drive down to Northamptonshire to do the engagement photography for Zara & Matt. It was the perfect February day, gorgeous sunshine giving out that light you only see on a cold winter’s day. Whilst the temperature was low, it was a fantastic excuse for them to get cosy and take lots of snuggly photographs.

Engagement photography

I drove to their house before the shoot to get organised and for some really scrumptious bacon butties made by Zara. We’d already decided to take a trip to the nearby Castle Ashby gardens. We took a walk around the walled garden and orangery. There’s so much to see here! A garden hero of mine, Capability Brown, designed the gardens  in the eighteenth century. He’s done many other gardens I previously visited for engagement shoots and at wedding venues in Lincolnshire and afar.

Castle Ashby weddings look amazing, one of the truly stunning wedding venues out there. Perfect for wedding photography! If the location look interesting to you, make sure you request a brochure.

The end results of the shoot were so pretty. We were able to take some happy photos as well as some more arty and detail shots. My favourite photos are the ones taken between the hedges. It was really fun to play with the light we had, which created such clean lines. The leaves made a really interesting abstract to frame them and with the shadows focusses your eyes to Zara and Matt.

Shustoke Barn wedding

Zara and Matt are getting married at Shustoke Barn in September this year. I first shot a wedding there last year (check it out here). Zara had seen the preview photographs of Laura and Andy’s wedding shared on the Shustoke’s Facebook page and got in touch. I’m so pleased she did as they’re both fantastic people and I’m so happy to be travelling back to this gorgeous venue later in the year for their wedding day! I’m sure to be blogging their wedding photos, so pop back and check out the results.
