Rosie and Tom booked me as their Leicester wedding photographer, for their summer wedding at Nanpanton Hall. This was an utter delight of a day. I’m sure you’ll agree when you look through some of their images of the day! Their wedding went without a hitch, which was largely in part due to Rosie’s sister who is a talented wedding planner. It was clear how everything had been thought out in advance and prepared. The only thing left to do was enjoy. That is exactly what both Rosie and Tom, plus all of their party loving guests!

Rosie made for a stunning bride, with her dark hair and maroon lips she carried off her delicate silk dress like a queen. With her delicate headpiece and her own poise and grace she screamed elegance and power. One of my favourite bridal portraits of all time is in here – see if you can find it? Framed by a sandstone arch, Rosie stands holding her flower bouquet with her full veil proudly surrounding her. This image is one of the main images on my website – it makes this Leicester wedding photographer smile to see it there!

Nanpanton Hall wedding

Nanpanton Hall is such a funky wedding venue just outside of Leicester. What I loved about this wedding was not only how personal it was to them, but how the venue allowed such opportunities to be outdoors, whilst having more than enough of a back up plan indoors. In fact, the couple had two ceremonies which incorporated a lot of what Nanpanton has to offer. The first ceremony was the traditional ‘official’ legal service, held in a beautiful hall. Rosie and Tom followed this up with some scrummy snacks by the brilliant Green’s catering, some quick group shots and then their sit down meal. I just love it when I know it’s going to be the guys and girls from Green’s as everyone always loves the food.

Candid wedding photography

Once everyone was fed and watered, and most certainly relaxed, the guests filtered down on to the lawn. Blankets and rugs had been spread around the circular lawn feature, with the odd wooden bench, for guests to get comfy. Shoes were discarded and new friends made. During this wedding I was able to capture so many happy candid shots, people were just so happy to be sharing Rosie and Tom’s wedding day that it meant wherever I turned I was able to capture happy smiles and wonderful moments.

Handfasting ceremony

This was when the happy couple joined us. Waistcoat and tie discarded, veil left elsewhere – they made their way to the centre of the circle to be surrounded by those they love the most. This handfasting ceremony was such a joy. Family spoke up about their love for the couple, all of the guests played their part and best of all – it felt so easy, whilst feeling all powerful. It was magical.

This vibe continued for the rest of the day and into the evening. I managed to sneak the bride and groom away for a short time to get some stunning couple shots in between the trees. The colours and the love just ooze from each frame. The afternoon drifted on and it was time for the first dance. A giant rug was pulled from inside and the barefoot bride joined her husband for their first dance as a married couple. This was the first time I had seen this type of first dance and it was just perfect for the day we’d already experienced.

Day met night and as the sun set the dancing on the lawn continued. Free flowing drinks, festoon lighting and such a bright and boho atmosphere all combined into a magical evening. This was a wonderful wedding, which couldn’t have been more perfect for the couple and who they are. Enjoy the images!
