This is the ultimate outdoor wedding photography, and it was all made possible with the dream and dedication of Sarah and Philip. Their wedding, in 2019, was so outdoor, fake grass had to be brought in for the aisle. Sarah wore the coolest trainers (as featured in the first images!) for this very special walk. With very special connections to the local Scout group, this is the forest space that they used for the ultimate outdoor, forest wedding.
Outdoor wedding photography
Bridal prep was at a hotel not too far, but this was the last of the real indoors. So much care and attention went into making the woods perfect for this couple and their loved ones – photos in trees, paper cranes, dinosaurs, very high class DIY drinks – in fact it’s pointless listing the amazing details, have a look for yourself! The ceremony was held between the trees, under a wooden pagoda and was so full of joy. Sarah’s face was the face that kept on giving – so much laughter. Plus, with the New York Brass Band getting the party started straight away, it was no-wall to no-wall outdoor wedding awesome.
The couple hired a geodome for their reception – basically like a smaller version of Centre Parcs or a really fancy golf ball type tent. So much care and detail went into this. It was a true home from home where all the guests were able to mingle in and outdoors, which made their wedding photography like a huge family photoshoot.
Getting married outside
Government legislation was temporarily changed to allow outdoor weddings, due to the pandemic, but recent weeks has seen this become a permanent change. Hallelujah to that! There have always been intrepid couples, just like Sarah and Philip. In order to make the marriage legally binding, would have to have a small ceremony at a local registry office. This change now means your whole wedding can take place, in one place! I cannot wait to see wedding blogs flooded with incredible real weddings, at outstanding locations.

Love this outdoor wedding photography? Me too! Honestly, the thing that makes each wedding special, and stand out against the rest, is a day that screams US! Another couple who pulled in the family connections had a wheatfield tipi wedding. All within walking distance of home. It just so happened to be the village just down the road from my home in Lincolnshire. I love being a Lincoln wedding photographer! Check it out here.
Hull is a short drive across the river, equally full of so many beautiful locations – checkout this stunning couples shoot.
