Shustoke Barn is such a beautiful venue, one of my favourites. Owned by the Cripps family it’s part of a chain of venues that offer absolute excellence when it comes to weddings. One thing that struck me the most when I visited the venue, was the attention to light – it literally flows in from everywhere – a photographers dream. The barn isn’t your usual barn, it’s full of beautiful shapes taking form to build the structure. As your eyes flow down through the center – the beautiful diamond details encased in the walls let a little glimmer of light illuminate the dark areas of the barn. Outside of the barn you find a large courtyard with olive trees that look like they have been there for hundreds of years, this makes the perfect backdrop for the group photographs.

Laura and Andy reached out to me via email after finding me on Rock my wedding the year before. I knew from the initial Skype meeting it was going to be great, but that was an understatement compared how amazing their day actually was. I met with Laura in the morning at her parent’s house – where the drinks were flowing and preparations were well underway, it was then a short drive to the church.

When we all got to Shustoke Barn they were met with canapes and drinks in the courtyard – making this time the perfect opportunity to capture the group photographs. I noticed while doing these, the circular window upstairs in the office area. This made for the beautiful light in the bridal portraits that can be seen mid post. Words are not enough to say how beautiful this wedding really was – I will let the photos speak for themselves.

One of my absolute favourites is mid partying when Andy and Laura were picked up among the group on the dancefloor – such a perfect moment.
