As Charlotte and Andrew’s summer wedding photographer at Hirst Priory, this was a huge one for me. It was summer 2020, North Lincolnshire registrars had Charlotte at the top of their list. Charlotte and Andrew were desperate to be married before their little boy arrived. It was a huge honour to be at Hirst Priory and their tiny garden party afterwards – and their boy arrived a couple of weeks after the wedding. I’m sure you’ll agree though, Charlotte looked radiant and certainly not what you’d expect a 9 months pregnant bride to look like!

A summer wedding offers all sorts of opportunities and options to couple. The weather is as close as you’re going to get to hot and this day didn’t disappoint – horizon to horizon blue skies! After getting ready at home, Charlotte was able to make use of the gorgeous bridal suite at Hirst Priory to put her dress on and capture those emotional first look with her parents and bridesmaids. After that famous Hirst Priory staircase moment, the couple they held their outdoor wedding under the trees in the woodland ceremony area. A summer wedding photographer is always happy when the leaves on the trees give that shade, as the light can be really interesting to work with!

Hirst Priory

Taking the opportunity for a couple of stops for couples photos, we first headed to a cornfield for some greenery! We took photos as a couple shoot, but also took the opportunity to take photographs as it were a bump shoot – winner! From there, we stopped at the exclusive Burringham Church. It’s exclusive as it’s no longer in use, but, it’s not what you know, who you know. The inside of this tiny church is stunning, and gave us so many photography options that you wouldn’t get in when the church would be full of people.

From here we went back to theirs for a garden party on the riverside. These two have surrounded themselves with friends who love them, and definitely laugh with them! Less of me, and more of the photos. Enjoy!

As a summer wedding photographer, not all summer weddings are made equal. This was a truly personal and intimate small wedding for a wonderful couple. Why not check out Abbie and Miles’ wedding, who also had a tiny wedding, but in winter this time?
