Aimee and Elis found me as their Dorfold Hall wedding photographer for their stunning June wedding in Cheshire. It was my first time at this new venue and even when looking at the photographs from other wedding photographers and wedding guests, I knew it was going to make an absolutely gorgeous wedding day.

Dorfold Hall wedding, Cheshire

Driving towards the Cheshire estate down the tree lined driveway towards the main house, Aimee and Elis’ wedding venue was the perfect setting for this happy couple and their family. I felt like royalty, never mind how the happy couple must have felt!

The bride and groom got ready for the big day at the onsite accommodation with the main wedding party. The King James bridal suite is stunning, an ideal place to surround yourselves with your bridesmaids and loved ones. If you were to choose to have a father or family first look there so many perfect places for the bride to stand.

Wedding venues like this take elegance to a new level

Aimee and Elis chose to have a ‘first look’ before everyone else got to see them before getting married. It’s come from America, but is gaining ground in the UK. It’s a way to have a special moment and in this case, give each other a gift. Plus, fantastic opportunity for extra emotive wedding photos and the groom to see the wedding dress for the first time! It was an incredible moment and I love the joy on the brides face. These two share a beautiful connection and you can really see the love between them and their family.

The connection between Aimee and Elis is a bond that comes across visually through the photos in such a beautiful way. It was a day of happiness and pure joy. I had so much fun being an observer and able to document for them to look back on.

After the group photos, which ended in a fantastic confetti shot, the wedding reception was so very lovely. Confetti photos are always hilarious as someone forgets their role! Bride tip: get someone to check you don’t have any stuck to you or your dress. The dinner provided in the wedding breakfast was so tasty, really high class event food. Even the backdrop for the cake made it stand out for the picture.

I was able to sneak the newlyweds away for couple photography in the gardens whilst the drinks reception was happening. Most weddings has this part of the day, and whilst it takes you away from your guests for a short time, it’s also a chance for intimate images so you simply can’t forget the day. Plus, a couple of individual bride and groom portraits now the adrenaline has gone down. We were spoilt for choice with the photography in the gardens and in the grounds near the lake. Cheshire is a gorgeous county the grounds of Dorfold wedding venue is no exception.

There are many options for your Dorfold Hall wedding photography, and the nearby St Mary’s Church is only down the road from Dorfold if you want a church ceremony. On site, there is the Coach House, another of the gorgeous historic buildings. As for the clock tower, it’s stunning! Whichever perfect place, in either venues you choose to hold the ceremony, you have exclusive access – the only bride in the place. This wedding was held in the Coach House with an amazing celebrant ceremony. I really hope celebrants keep getting the recognition they deserve!

Dorfold Hall had impeccable organisation before and during the day – this meant nothing was a stress. They ensured we were able to get the absolute maximum from the different building and in the grounds around the venue, to capture such gorgeous moments. There’s beauty everywhere you look in the gardens and estate! Dorfold Hall is a must visit venue if it matches your wedding requirements on paper.

The story unfolds as you walk down the drive towards Dorfold Hall

Once the night came, we had so many images for their Dorfold Hall wedding photography, but the best bit was yet to come. The first dance and all the dancing photos of the bride and groom, the family and their guests! The venue was perfect for a party and as all the best weddings have a great party, this was no exception!
