Shelley and Dave got married at The Manor Rooms and as a wedding photographer it was my first time being there! Located on the Drewton Estate, South Cave, this newly opened luxury wedding venue has a garden room beautifully decorated, that’s the perfect wedding ceremony room. Surrounded by their loved ones, their wedding day went without a hitch.

The Manor rooms wedding photography

During my years photographing weddings throughout the United Kingdom, I’ve seen many trends come and go. Plus, all the big magazine rave about them. Shelley was the first I’d seen to have had their initials embroidered onto her veil. A really lovely personal touch!

With bridal prep taking place at the nearby Cave Castle hotel, there was plenty of space for the guests to stay if they needed. Plus, what a treat to be able to say you got ready for your wedding at a castle?! Sumptuous bridal room or what! Shelley and her bridesmaids had a really chilled morning, including a champagne start to the day.

The Manor Rooms

Making the journey across to the large private car park at The Manor Rooms, Shelley used a vintage car for her and her dad. Before making her way down the aisle in the conservatory, I was able to capture some photos of Dave and his best men waiting. There’s so many quirky and novel ideas in the room, including the wood floor, exposed stone walls and of course the green foliage photo wall. It’s incredibly modern and yet has a wonderful homely feel to it.

Today was a special day nationally, as King Charles II was formalising the paperwork of his newly acquired kingship. Remember the ink pot faffing?! This did not take away from the time and energy Shelley and Dave had put into their day.

Following a beautiful ceremony of their own in East Yorkshire, we captured some candid and group photos on the Manor Room’s terrace. This is a wonderful private area, that has rolling countryside views. For me what stood out, is the conservatory, and lots of the details that are included. It’s not just a blank canvas.

The wedding breakfast was when some exceptional food made its way to the guests. I love the personal service here, led by a really wonderful events manager. With a fabulous mix of vintage barn and modern, The Manor Rooms South Cave is the perfect space. As the room leads directly on to the countryside, you have everything at your fingertips. For the couple photos we made the most of being able to use the nearby woodland.

Ending the night in the party room, Shelley, Dave and their loved ones danced the night away. From their initial enquiry with me, until the moment I delivered their gallery, it was a pleasure.
