The White Hart Inn, Moorwood Moor, Nottinghamshire

Helen and Simon’s Nottinghamshire wedding photography was a snowy March dream! I could write for hours about this wedding, but I’ll let the stunning photos do most of the talking here. I’ve known Helen for quite some time through her sister. I was over the moon when she got in touch to book me as their wedding photographer. They came to my home in Lincolnshire in advance of the wedding, and will be coming this weekend to pick up their USB. Can’t wait to catch up!

Sunshine and snow

Some weddings are a gift – and this one was no exception. For all the planning and work on details before a wedding day, the one thing that is truly unpredictable is the weather. The second ‘Beast from the East’ was due to hit full force in Nottinghamshire that afternoon, but flakes were falling all day. As it was so unknown Helen was nervous, I mean, who knows how it could have panned out? The wedding world had seen postponed weddings and the news had been full of stormy images in previous weeks. We had a break in the clouds in the afternoon and the sun emerged for the couples photos. You can’t even tell that it was super chilly, especially with those big smiles from Helen and Simon!

However, later on, the flakes became juicier, real snow! With a quick outdoor suggestion to the couple, they could have easily said they wanted to stay in the cosy White Hart Inn. But no, out we trooped! With some borrowed cling film from the kitchen (huge thank you to the staff the The White Hart Inn!) covering my flashes – safety first kids – we took a handful of the most perfect photos. Helen and Simon had been amazing, they only laughed a little bit at me when I fell down the hill, and within five minutes we were back inside.

Helen and Simon have known each other since primary school, they are so sweet together and very much in love. The speeches were some of the best I’ve heard, as they were so emotional and honest. The party went on whilst the storm swirled outside. Dancing, drinking and lots and lots of laughter.
