Emily and Kieran’s wedding was one I have waited for, for a long time, especially since their family are my neighbours! Their wedding was a family and love filled day, with so much happiness, smiling and champagne! These two are the sweetest couple, and seeing their teamwork was something really special

It was my first time at Highfield House nestled in East Yorkshire, and upon arriving my first thoughts were of awe at the stunning gardens and beautifully designed interiors inside! This is a venue where every element has been thought about making it really suitable for weddings. Of course the sunshine really did help make everything look perfect. Highfield house is in a stunning location and a natural beauty for the area – the house has so much charm and inside the beams and old worldly feel throughout the rooms, you can see exactly why Emily and Kieran chose the venue for their wedding.

Exclusive grounds to explore at Highfield House

Morning prep was brilliant and full of joy, with a great group as bridesmaids and the proudest parents! Emily has such a calm quality about her, and she looked truly beautiful!

After the ceremony they both poured champagne from the stairs into a tower of glasses, adding that extra little unique experience for guests different to the usual. With a perfect pour, no glasses were harmed! On top of this commenting on the service of the staff on their wedding day – it made for taking wedding photos easy. I always love working at venues like this – it makes my job easy when its one big team. I know I say this a lot – but I really do mean it, Highfield house offers everything.

On one of the hottest days of the year so far, Emily and Kieran spent most of their time on the patios with guests chatting and enjoying their surroundings. The gardens gave so much room to explore, and guests were making the most of every opportunity. When it came to dinner they even had speeches and a few tables out on the terrace that really added that extra charm. I had a sit down meeting with Emily and Kieran, a few weeks ago, to discuss the day and help visualise their ideas – I think this even surpassed their expectations!

A hidden Oasis in East Yorkshire

As a keen gardener myself I took a moment with the owner who landscapes these beautiful gardens. If you have a walk to the greenhouse you can find some plants from Madagascar, not something you find everyday! Also hidden in the trees is a very rare tree – the Wollemi pine, ill give you a hint, its close to the greenhouse. This tree is critically endangered and its not something you will see everyday – another little charm that sets this venue apart from the rest.
