Natasha and Chris’s Woodstock barn wedding was all sunflowers, sunshine and a fair bit of Pokémon. Woodstock Weddings and Events sits at the end of a long driveway in Wigginton, about ten minutes from York. It was my first time there and what a surprise it was!
Take That and sunflowers in the bridal suite
Natasha got ready at Woodstock with her mum, her sister and a friend. Take That was on non stop and the chat kept coming back to Pokémon. What more could you ask for?
Beauty by Beverley Ann did her hair and makeup. Her bouquet was sunflowers, lavender and eucalyptus, all artificial from Dunelm. You’d never know. She had sunflower trainers ready for later too.
Her Wed2B dress was laced up in the bridal suite, then her dad came in to see her. The sunflower crown went on last.
Chris arrived at midday and got ready with his groomsmen in dark green suits from Mr Munro with orange ties. There was plenty of laughing as they sorted each other’s ties.
A ceremony in the main barn at Woodstock
Woodstock is hidden away in the countryside on an old horse stud. Head down the driveway and a courtyard opens up, with timber barns, planted beds and everything you need in one place. I could see why Natasha and Chris chose it. It’s a lovely find for a Yorkshire barn wedding.
The ceremony was at 2pm in the main barn and the place is huge! Big windows at the end look out over the fields and the pond.
Natasha walked down the aisle with her dad to Pokémon music, which was my favourite part of the day. Then during the vows a bird landed in the pond behind them and had a bath. The guests couldn’t keep a straight face.
Confetti and fizz in the courtyard
Back out in the sunshine, guests lined the courtyard for confetti. Chris ended up with most of it in his hair.
Canapés came round while everyone caught up over a drink. Then we did the bridal party photos, with the bridesmaids in pink and sage green next to the boys in dark green.

Speeches on the patio wall
The speeches were outside on the patio, with guests sitting along the stone wall overlooking the fields. It made a beautiful backdrop.
We really lucked out with the March sunshine. Woodstock also has a cocktail bar in the old stables beside the patio, so guests could grab a drink and enjoy the view.
Willow trees and a garden bench
For couple photos we wandered round the grounds. There’s a path lined with weeping willows, a little garden with a wooden bench and a stone fountain by the courtyard.
Natasha and Chris were so easy to be around. Lots of laughing, a few cuddles and her sunflowers in nearly every shot.
Dancing, pizza and a busy dance floor
The wedding breakfast was in the reception barn under the chandeliers, with sunflowers and lavender on every table. Then it was straight into the first dance.
DJ Ollie kept the dance floor busy and the pizza van arrived at 9pm. There was still room for guests to sit back and talk the night away. What a day!
