Caitlin and Steven had a beautiful autumnal wedding at the Cragwood Hotel, in the Lake District and as their Cragwood wedding photographer, it was a such a pleasure! The natural colours of autumn were shining through in all their glory. It’s one of those colour palettes every couple dreams of on their wedding day. Each Lake District wedding photographer has the fortunate experience of every year. It’s also one reason I like to take a personal trip with my family around October, to experience how beautiful it is.
The gardeners have done a beautiful job at blending the landscaped stunning gardens into the enchanting backdrop and natural beauty of the Lake District. During the ceremony, Caitlin and Steven exchanged their wedding vows in front of the large panoramic windows. This was overlooking the gardens at Cragwood Country House, a view that was a picture of its own. The warm intimate glow of the fireplace makes you feel like you are within a film.
Cragwood Country House Hotel wedding venue
Cragwood Country House Hotel is based on the shores of the absolutely stunning Lake Windermere. It’s a place of beauty and what most will see as the centre of the lake district. With its own jetty and beach, it’s a place that offers a whole range of experiences for weddings. This is something Caitlin and Steven made the absolute most of.
After the speeches, we tricked the guests into thinking that I was planning to take a photo on the shore of Lake Windermere. But, waiting for them at the jetty, was a boat Caitlin and Steven had planned to pick everyone up. Jumping aboard the boat was a great way to spend the late afternoon and relax after some delicious food. It was brilliant to be part of this lovely surprise!
Cragwood wedding photographer – wedding venue at the heart of the Lake District
Once the sun had set at Cragwood Country House, ‘Juggling Inferno’ surprised everyone even further. A live fire performance on the lawn! I haven’t seen this at a wedding in a long time. As you are restricted with fireworks in the Lake District, this was a great idea for some natural light and colour outside. It looked incredible! During dinner, Dave joined us and he is such a lovely guy. It was really refreshing to hear someone as passionate about his job as he was.
