Where better to begin my Autumn blogging than this Hemswell Court wedding? Bethany and Craig embraced the full riot of autumn colours, and a whole heap of local suppliers in their October wedding. Incredibly, they chose me to be their photographer on their special day – wahoo! And, what a perfect day it was.
Epworth to Lincoln
Bridal prep was held at home, where everyone had a great morning together. Bethany is a beautiful lady inside and out and the detail she put into how she looked on her wedding day was amazing. (I mean, it’s kind of her job but still – everything was just perfect!) The colour matching was impeccable, from the flowers to the bridesmaids and groomsmen, everything complimented to the season and Bethany’s lipstick! There was hints to Halloween with little pumpkins scattered about, and even conkers making an appearance as part of the decor. It was an almost Halloween wedding without the tricks, scary bits or gore. Spot Autumn wedding inspiration!

It was only when I was putting the supplier list together, that I realised how local all of the suppliers were. During the covid years, everyone talked about shopping local. It’s so lovely to see that this was the case with lots of their choices. Of course, using the Wesleyan Church in Epworth for their vows, this brought everyone together in the middle of Epworth. This was for the vows part of their wedding day, before the big party over at Hemswell Court.
Hemswell Court wedding – Lincoln
With a little drive south from Epworth, the wedding party moved on to Hemswell Court. This is a gorgeous Lincolnshire wedding venue that does not get enough credit. Steeped in RAF and WW2 history, the venue itself is an incredibly well kept country house type building with beautiful gardens. Part of Hemswell Cliff and opposite Hemswell market (which is often what people know) it truly is a hidden gem that can cater to most weddings. When it comes to the photography there’s plenty of choice for great images! Plus, the team are so welcoming to couples and suppliers alike. If suppliers can do their jobs with a supportive venue then the wedding day itself is that much more friendly and relaxed.

With so many faces I recognised from previous weddings, and even previous bride and grooms I have photographed, it felt like great a big family party.
