As Bex and Iain’s Saltmarshe Hall wedding photographer, I was over the moon to see the weather report for this winter wedding – sunshine and warm weather! It doesn’t seem like five minutes ago I was blogging about snowy weddings from last year and this last weekend has got me all excited about the upcoming years weddings.

I have so many personal connections to Bex but hadn’t really realised until I met with her. She grew up in the same North Lincolnshire village as me, but had moved away. Her parents ran the post office and I vividly remember buying sweets from her dad on the way to school. When it comes to sweets I think everyone must have happy memories, right?!

Winter wedding at Saltmarshe Hall

The whole day was held at Saltmarshe Hall. Now, I love this venue: the staff are awesome, the grounds are gorgeous and the hall itself is just stunning. The outdoor spaces are so well kept and some of the best I’ve had the pleasure of photographing. Whilst the weather on the day was beautiful – record breaking February temperatures – there was a dreamy haze and not to mention that light. Wow. A wedding photographer’s dream, before we even mention the bridal party and guests!

Bex’s dress looked as if it was made for her – the team at Osh Gosh did a great job fitting it. Her four bridesmaids were in blue sequined Jenny Packham dresses, that complimented her look perfectly. I’ve not seen dresses like these on bridesmaids before, but they were brilliant! The girls got ready at Saltmarshe Hall, whilst the boys were elsewhere. It’s the perfect place for this. A regal setting to get the bridal party into the mood, plus plenty of room for everything needed.

Iain arrived at Saltmarshe in his ancient, but beautiful Land Rover Defender. This is a vehicle that I would like for myself and it was brilliant hearing Iain talking about how he’s screwed bits on and off, as Land Rover originally intended. Bex and Iain had brought their dogs to be part of the wedding. They were incredibly well behaved, listening to every tiny instruction and following them to a tee! I just love these photos; they’re like something from a country magazine shoot!

Yorkshire wedding photography in winter

The ceremony into the party was just brilliant throughout. It was such a wild night! As with all my full day packages, I stayed well beyond the first dance, capturing some of the crazy dance moves and drunken faces. It’s fantastic when everyone lets their hair down and just has FUN! It wasn’t only the flame dancers burning up the Hall that night.

Anyway, I’ll let the photos from this February wedding do the talking. I’ve chosen a few from the ones I’ve delivered to the couple, to showcase below. Check them out and let me know what you think!
