I initially met with James & Nicola in 2015 to discuss their Saltmarshe Hall wedding plans where they told me they were making use of the ceremony freedom to have two different ceremonies. It made sense that Nicola was having two dresses as well! Seeing their ideas and hearing how they would like their dream wedding to unfold, got my inspiration cogs turning. I LOVE it when couples make their wedding fit their wants and needs – I mean – it makes it perfect right?
Ceremony freedom at an East Yorkshire country house venue
In April, just a month before the wedding we all met at Saltmarshe Hall to plan the wedding and photograph their engagement shoot. The gardens were just starting to come into bloom. Coming up with ideas for the wedding, we had to imagine what the gardens would look like in a months time. It was incredible to see just how much it changed. Navigate between them both and you will see such a dramatic contrast – its seasonal gardens that make venues like Saltmarshe Hall so special for a wedding any time of the year!
Not one, but TWO wedding ceremonies?!
On the wedding day, Nicola and James chose to have a small intimate ceremony beforehand in the morning. This is where the first of the two wedding dresses came in handy. Just close family attended. Saltmarshe Hall offers so many options and choices for location of ceremonies and wedding breakfast. You can be at two weddings on consecutive weekends, and them be very different to photograph.
This is where my full day wedding photography packages come into their own, with a time limited package it would have been difficult. Having no time limit meant made no difference to how the day flowed. You would have thought with ceremony freedom to have two, things would have been hectic, yet it was the complete opposite. A relaxed stress free morning.
Intimate Saltmarshe Hall wedding
Saltmarshe Hall itself is one of the few venues that need very little styling as it is absolutely beautiful inside. What we would call a wedding photographer’s dream! With neutral pastel tones throughout, Nicola and James decided on some little touches, spreading flowers throughout. This gave the hall that extra flair for their wedding and made it theirs.
Full day wedding photography packages
Whereas some photographers only stay until after the first dance with their wedding packages I will stay right until the end of the night and party with you and your guests. Nicola and James sure knew how to party, they hired The rebel sounds and they were awesome! I don’t think I’ve partied as much at a wedding before as I did at their wedding.
